A sacred lake, a serious climb
The Satopanth Lake Trek is a high-altitude journey through the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, culminating at the sacred Satopanth Tal — a glacial lake said to be visited by Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.
You'll walk through glacial moraine, alpine meadows and river valleys, past Vasundhara Falls and the Alkapuri Glacier, with Chaukhamba's snow wall as a constant companion. It's demanding — long trekking days at altitude — and it rewards you with views very few trekkers ever see.
Departing from Rishikesh, returning to Rishikesh. Everything in between — stay, meals, guides, permits, ground transport — is handled by our team on the ground in Joshimath.

4,950 ft200 km scenic drive past Devprayag, Rudraprayag & Karnaprayag. Trek briefing and dinner on arrival.
Pipalkoti → Mana → Lakshmi Van
11,900 ftDrive to Mana, India's last village near the Tibet border, then trek along the Alaknanda valley past Vasundhara Falls.
Lakshmi Van → Chakrateertha
13,658 ftA climb through glacial moraine terrain, with wide-open views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.
Chakrateertha → Satopanth Tal → Chakrateertha
14,258 ft · Summit DayThe main event — the sacred triangular lake, ringed by Chaukhamba, Neelkanth and Balakun. Time by the lake, then return to camp.
Chakrateertha → Mana → Badrinath
10,830 ftDescend through glacial valleys and rocky trails back to Mana, then a short drive to Badrinath with time for the temple.
Badrinath → Rishikesh
Trip EndsEarly departure and a long scenic drive back through the Garhwal valleys, reaching Rishikesh by evening.

May to June and September to October, when the weather is stable and trails are most accessible — exactly when our fixed batches run.
Moderate to difficult. It reaches high altitude and includes long trekking days, so a reasonable fitness base matters.
It's recommended. The summit push on Day 4 is physically demanding and goes easier with some trekking or cardio background.
Twin-sharing tents at high-altitude campsites, and guesthouses or hotels during the road journey days.
A minimum of 6 participants is required to operate. If that's not met, you get a full refund or the option to move to another batch.
